South Los Angeles' Figueroa Corridor

In this project, young people documented health issues in their neighborhood, including the prevalence of mini– and fast food marts (and lack of healthy foods), uncollected trash on the street, and unsafe streets, parks, and schools. They also sought to show the strengths of their community: portraits of families, Quinciñeras, youth groups, and people active in their community. Comment on their pics! Let them know what you think! Venice Arts in Hong Kong

This is a series of images from Lynn, Joanne, and Jim's first trip to Hong Kong, where Venice Arts is consulting with a Foundation supporting programs in the arts for youth. Look for new images in July, 2010 when we return to provide a training program to the Foundation's teaching photographers, and to offer support as they implement a 3-day Photo Camp for Hong Kong-area youth.
