I confess I haven't done a serious photo shoot since before I left L.A.
Today oddly enough after working all day I was moved by inspiration (?) to go forage in my basement. The images are pretty different from my usual...I tend to like people, movement and dynamic elements but I guess I felt like doing something a bit different today. My eyes (real and mental) felt a strong urge to explore the areas that we usually ignore (especially me). My new basement felt like the perfect representation of this. So I give you my explorations of the unseen...not the most interesting pictures I'll admit, and I'm sure you're expecting something more Alaskan but this one was more for me than anyone else. BTW Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard is a good book to read should you feel particularly introspective and contemplative like I do right now. She really explores the art of seeing. These days we treat our vision as something passive. Like the very act of seeing doesn't engage us with this world...it's a constant exploration. New tones of colors, subtle motions, undetectable changes. So long story short, these new pictures are about what I saw today at 10 PM :)
