Voices of Venice: The Boardwalk / A collection curated by Venice Arts

World's Greatest Wine-O

Bobby Brown is the Boardwalk's resident wino. He walks around in a colorful outfit, wearing a full-body signboard that announces himself as "World's Greatest Wine-O." He sings love songs to passing pretty girls and encourages all beach visitors to enjoy a life without destructive addictions. As a former alcoholic, the he taps the experiences of his past to create a vibrant performance persona. He is often heard melodically singing the refrain, "Jingle bells, jingle bells, help me get drunk." Venice Arts youth filmmakers Sam Bruce and Zola Glassman examine this wino's worldview in the 2009 documentary film, "Voices of Venice: The Boardwalk."
