  • On saturday, i arrived at VA around 10am to work on my book for my thursday advanced class. Everything was going good until the rain ruined everything; around 10:30 am, the electricity went out and everything stopped; we couldnt use the computers, darkroom or anything and in a way it was kind of relieving because it was like the rain wanted everyone to take a break from the stress that we had. Deanna, tiffany, cathy, and I were very excited because it meant just relaxing and waiting for it to come back and so we hanged out and talked; now if it wasnt for the rain, Deanna and I wouldnt have had an amazing talk.i told Deanna about the recent changes ive been having ever since my friend died on November 3,2009. i feel like his death really opened my eyes and i finally popped the bubble i was living in. I told her that on friday, i had gone with my friend to trade tech in los angeles. we had to take two trains to get there and it was an expierence i will never forget.while we were on the first train i saw a lot of interesting people on the train from a homeless man, a lady giving away god pamphlets,& a man selling things; i have always been scared of different people and things that im not use to seeing in my everyday life but, ive changed and it kind of opened my heart to see these people struggling to live their lives. On the second train we saw what is called "the projects" and she explained to me how people really live there. I was suprised and felt very sad because people have to live the way they do and they dont have a choice. It made me very grateful of where I live and my friendly community. Overall the talk i had with Deanna was very intense and helpful because it just made me realize that I'm becoming a better person and I'm learning of differrent enviroments and people without being scared.& see if it wasnt for the lights going out, we wouldnt of had the amazing talk. lol
