  • One of my ideas for next session is to start documenting the stories of the people who travel on the metro line trains to their destinations; each person has a past and a story that always intrigues an audience; when i went on a small trip with my friend to la, i saw a lot of interesting people on the tram that i knew had a story to tell; now i feel its my step to get on the trains again and learn and document their stories. One of my second ideas was to document my own story of my health problems; i have a heart defect that doctors have told me is called an Atrial Septal Defect also know as (ASD) its a small hole in my heart(one of the chambers) and it is stopping the flow of my blood, therefore causing my heart to beat twice as fast a normal person would. this health problem is one of many health issues ive had in my life. since i was young ive had many health issues which have been an obstacle for my life, yet i feel i havent let it stop me from living my life; i feel ive acomplished many things in my 18 years and i know that health issues will not become an obstacle for me; with that said, i plan to tell venice arts and the rest of the world my story, how i've dealed with many scary moments where i thought i was going to pass away but i haven't.My last idea came as i was inspired by a movie called," My Sister's Keeper." it tells story of a girl dying of Leukemia and her sister being used as a organ donor, but yet she is fighting to stay alive. this story had a twit to it but the thought of having a young girl suffer broke my heart; now my idea was to go to the LA children's hospital and document the struggle f these young children and their families; to see how they have overcome the fact that theyre sick. im still expanding that idea but thats a basic thought that i want to expand and really dive into, my ratings for the first idea is(interest, characters, and images) 4,2,5, the second idea is 4,5,4, and the third is 5,1,5

These both sound like incredible projects, Evelyn. It would be wonderful to see both of them made. The first project is so vivid in my mind -- I can imagine it be interesting (characters, visually) and kind of quirky and fun. The second would be very moving -- maybe juxtaposing your own health challenges or story with those of the kids in your film/photo series? If you do the latter and need help getting access to shooting in the hospital, let me know. One of our board members, who is a doctor, may be able to help.
